The release of the Apple iPad has definitely made a great impact on the eBook reader market. On April 25th the two leading brands in the eBook reader market Amazon and Barnes and Noble decided that they are putting up a fight and responded in their own way. Barnes and Noble released a major software update that includes speeding up their eBook reader, integrating a web browser and much more. You can read about the software update by clicking this link. Furthermore, B&N are starting to run televised ads for the Nook in order to gain the audience's attention.
Amazon on the other hand, for the first time in history, decided that they were going to sell their Kindle in a brick and mortar store - Target. It will first be available in Target's flagship store in downtown Minneapolis as well as 102 stores in Florida, and will roll out at additional stores later in the year.
